丙酮醛(MGO)、是晚期糖基化终产物(AGEs)的主要前体,会导致糖尿病增加。在糖尿病啮齿类动物中,抑制MGO可预防心血管疾病(CVD)。近日,糖尿病领域权威杂志Diabetes上发表了一篇研究文章,研究人员旨在评估血浆中MGO水平是否与1型糖尿病患者CVD的发生有关。
研究人员从Steno糖尿病中心门诊招募了159名持续蛋白尿的患者和162名糖尿病肾病(DN)的患者。研究人员测量了受试者的基础MGO水平,并在平均为12.3(四分位间距为7.6-12.5)年的随访期间记录了致命和非致命性CVD。研究人员在调整了性别、年龄、糖化血红蛋白、糖尿病肾病、糖尿病病程、吸烟、收缩压、抗高血压药物以及BMI后,采用Cox回归对数据进行了分析。
随访期间,73名患者至少发生了一例CVD事件(36例致死和53例非致死性事件)。高MGO含量与总的、致命的和非致命的心血管事件相关(分别有风险比为1.47,95%可信区间为1.13-1.91;1.42,95%可信区间为1.01-1.99;1.46,95%可信区间为1.08-1.98)。研究人员在总死亡率方面也观察到了相似的趋势(风险比为1.24;95%可信区间为0.99-1.56)。
