在2018年美国血液学会（ASH）年会上提交的MAIA研究结果显示，将Darzalex（daratumumab）添加到来那度胺和地塞米松方案中显著降低了不适合进行自体干细胞移植的多发性骨髓瘤患者的疾病进展风险或死亡风险。MAIA研究达到了其主要临床终点：含有Darzalex的方案显著降低了疾病进展或死亡率。在该研究中，737名新诊断的多发性骨髓瘤的患者不适合进行高剂量化疗或自体干细胞移植，在28天的周期内分别接受了含有Darzalex的来那度胺和地塞米松方案和来那度胺和地塞米松方案治疗。

中位随访28个月，详细结果显示，与单独使用来那度胺和地塞米松方案相比，含有Darzalex的方案显著降低了疾病进展或死亡风险，患者的中位无进展生存期（PFS）尚未达到，而单独接受来那度胺和地塞米松治疗的患者的中位PFS为31.9个月。
