亚精胺是各种动物体内合成的一种代谢物,也见于各种食品中,包括成熟奶酪、豆类和全谷类。过去,人们已经发现亚精胺可延长简单生物体的寿命,如酵母、果蝇和线虫。据悉,这种延长寿命的效果源于亚精胺能够激活细胞自噬过程,从而实现细胞组分的降解和循环利用。

法国抗癌联盟的Guido Kroemer、奥地利格拉茨医科大学的Simon Sedej和Frank Madeo及同事发现,持续在小鼠饮用水中添加亚精胺可延长它们的寿命,即使在小鼠已达中年时再开始也能产生效果。亚精胺改善了年龄较大的小鼠的心脏功能,表明心脏延缓衰老可以促进延长寿命。不过,自噬基因存在缺陷的小鼠并没有从亚精胺摄入中受益,由此可见,亚精胺之所以具有保护心脏的效果,是因为它能够激活自噬。通过降低血压并改善心脏功能,亚精胺在大鼠体内也产生了保护心脏的效果。

作者还测试了通过饮食摄入亚精胺是否对人类有益。通过以问卷形式调查了约800人(位于意大利布鲁尼科)食用不同食物的频率,结果显示亚精胺摄入量较高与较低的人的心脏衰竭与其他心血管疾病风险(在男性身上尤为明显)以及较低的血压相关


小知识:亚精胺

精胺(Spermine)是存在于所有真核细胞中的一种多胺类物质。呈碱性,在生理pH下以多质子化的形式存在。 具有各种代谢功能,与细胞的生长和成长有关

德国柏林自由大学的斯蒂芬·西格瑞斯特教授和奥地利卡尔·弗朗岑斯大学的弗兰克·马德欧教授合作团队研究的结果表明,亚精胺可以使老年果蝇大脑的性能回到年轻时的水平。在生物当中,苍蝇和老鼠的记忆过程与人类在分子水平上是类似的。因此,科学家认为该研究将有助于开发延缓老年痴呆症发病的药物。

与年龄有关的记忆能力下降或可通过天然物质亚精胺来阻止,这是德国和奥地利的科学家合作研究的结果。亚精胺是一种多胺,广泛分布在生物体内,是由腐胺和腺苷甲硫氨酸生物合成的。人类的亚精胺浓度会随着年龄的增长而减少。如果补充亚精胺可以推迟痴呆症的发作,对于患者和社会来说都意味着一个重要的突破。
