日前，国际学术权威刊物自然出版集团旗下子刊《Nature Communications》杂志上在线发表了暨南大学粤港澳中枢神经再生研究院任超然研究组和苏国辉研究组合作的题为A retinoraphe projection regulates serotonergic activity and looming-evoked defensive behavior的研究论文，首次揭示了视网膜至背侧中缝核

日前，国际学术权威刊物自然出版集团旗下子刊《Nature Communications》杂志上在线发表了暨南大学粤港澳中枢神经再生研究院任超然研究组和苏国辉研究组合作的题为A retinoraphe projection regulates serotonergic activity and looming-evoked defensive behavior的研究论文，首次揭示了视网膜至背侧中缝核光信息传导通路在调控视觉诱发防御反应中的功能及机制。博士研究生黄鲁为论文第一作者，任超然副研究员和苏国辉院士为共同通讯作者。

机体面对外界不同形式的威胁性刺激会本能的做出防御反应，从而使得刺激造成的伤害降到最低。防御反应存在于包括人在内的不同物种中，它对于机体的生存至关重要。其中威胁性视觉刺激所诱发防御反应的调控机制是近年来神经科学研究的一大热点。比如当小鼠在野外遇到从天空俯冲下来的老鹰时，它会本能的做出逃跑(Flight)或凝滞(Freezing)动作。然而长久以来人们并不清楚视网膜中是何种类型细胞在负责感知此种威胁性信息，脑内有哪些核团能够参与调控防御反应也还需要进一步确定。

研究发现视网膜内存有一类可同时投射至上丘(SC)和背侧中缝核(DRN)的神经节细胞，而且它们能够特异感知并传递迫近性威胁刺激(Looming stimulation)。当该类细胞激活时，一方面可通过启动上丘(SC)—丘脑外侧后核(LP)—杏仁核(Am)神经通路来诱发防御反应，另一方面还可通过抑制DRN的五羟色胺(5-HT)神经元进而保证防御反应的顺利执行。

研究发现了一条新的视觉诱发防御反应调控环路，加深了我们对外界光信息调控情绪相关行为的作用及机制的理解，并可为临床上自闭症、恐怖症等防御反应障碍疾病的诊治提供新思路。
