小保方晴子《自然》论文被呼吁撤回

日本理化学研究所发育生物学中心的小保方晴子团队所发表的两篇令科学界震惊的文章,在发表不足40天后被呼吁撤回。呼吁者包括其中一篇文章的共同作者。该两篇文章声称能够通过简单的酸浴刺激已经分化哺乳动物细胞重新回到胚胎状态,这种细胞称为STAP细胞。

该文章发表于1月30号,而仅仅在发表后的几周内,该文章被指责学术不端以及明显使用与已发表文章重复的图片。很多科学家也表示,他们无法通过小保方晴子团队使用的方法来获得STAP细胞。小保方晴子团队回应,他们将会作出更正,并提供实验提示来帮助其他科学家复制他们的实验结果。

然而到上周末,两个更严重的问题出现了。小保方晴子在《自然》上发表的文章明显重复使用了两张其博士学位论文上的图片。她的博士论文中使用该图片是用于表示该细胞原本就处于胚胎状态,而在《自然》上发表的文章中再次被使用的图片,却称该细胞是在另外一个不同的实验中通过不同的实验刺激而回到胚胎状态的。

该问题的揭露引发了一系列撤回该文章的呼吁,呼吁者中不乏日本科学界权威性人物。但是,最具破坏性的呼吁来自于该文章其中一位共同作者:山梨大学的克隆专家若山照彦。在NHK的访问中,他表示对该文章已经失去信心。“文章出现了太多的问题与疑惑,我觉得我们需要等待一些确切的证据。”

若山呼吁开展一个对实验记录的调查,检查实验记录本以及数据。若山指出,“为了检查该文章的合理性,我们必须撤回文章,然后准备准确的数据以及真实的实验图片,再充满信心地去论证那篇文章是正确的。”他还表示他已经联系了文章的所有作者,希望他们都同意撤稿。而日本理化学所则表示,该事件仍在调查中。
