生物钟是人体的自然调节机制,位于大脑的视交叉上核。它通过调节我们的昼夜节律以改善机体生理、精神和行为过程,时间持续24小时。

人类和其他生物一样,昼夜节律主要是依据白天和黑暗形成的。例如,在夜间,生物钟告诉身体是时候睡眠并增加褪黑激素的生产。

Firsov博士和同事们指出肾脏生物钟在肾脏许多功能中发挥着重要作用。

肾脏的主要作用是清除血液中的代谢废物和多余的水分。肾脏是由数以百万计的肾单位形成,它们是过滤血液的基本单位,多余的代谢废物以尿液的形式排出体外。

根据国家肾脏协会,24小时内正常人月通过排尿排出约2夸脱的液体。

瑞士大学的Natsuko Tokonami博士指出,白天肾脏排泄的尿液明显多于晚上,这就是明显的生物钟机制。

在他们的研究中,研究人员抑制了一个名为Bmal1的基因,它在调节器官生物钟机制中起着关键作用。他们发现,机体生物钟先天便具有在白天和黑夜调节肾脏功能的作用。这些调节过程有助于肾脏有效清除机体的代谢废物,并保持机体血液中氨基酸和脂质维持在正常范围。此外,生物钟影响机体的血药浓度和维持时间。

Firsov博士指出,肾脏生物钟有助于维持机体有效代谢和保护机体稳态。
