Science:新数学模型能预测流行病全球暴发路径

该数学模型是由理论物理学家现柏林洪堡大学(Humboldt-Universitaet)教授Dirk Brockmann博士和苏黎世联邦理工学院教授Dirk Helbing共同完成的。【原文下载

Brockmann 和Helbing的新理论是基于全球各地联系关系来分析流行病动态的。而传统的地理距离不再是重点,取而代之的是"有效距离"。

Brockmann博士称,对于德国法兰克福来说,伦敦,纽约,东京等大城市的有效距离并不会比地理上邻近的德国城市大。

当未知病毒在某地暴发的时候,科学家需要重点回答一下问题:新疾病在哪里起源?哪里将会有新病例出现?什么时候会出现?多少人会受到疾病危害?

科学家在新模型中通过计算航空运输网络的运输强度来表征地区间的有效距离。Helbing博士解释道如果从A地到B地的客流量很大,其有效距离就很小,反之亦然。

Brockmann 和Helbing博士通过新数学模型分析了过去数年的疾病暴发路径,如2003年SARS,2009年H1N1流感。

Brockmann博士称,我们希望我们的模型有助于提高流行病的预测能力。Helbing博士补充道,我们相信我们的理论也适用于其他的领域,如电脑病毒的扩散,信息,时尚等在社会中的传播等。
