近期,美国风湿病学会年会(American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting)在波士顿召开,休斯顿Baylor医学院研究人员在会上报告了上述结果。

骨性关节炎是一种关节病,以软骨、关节连接、韧带和骨退行性病变为特征。常见发病部位为膝、髋、手和脊柱。美国大约有2690万成人患有不同程度和部位的骨性关节炎,其中中老年人发病率最高。

骨性关节炎发病原因尚不明确,既往研究提示,经常跑步可能导致该病。但是,本研究团队指出,先前研究主要在职业男性田径运动员群体开展,因此结论对普通人无指导意义。

此外,研究者指出,田径运动员体质指数(BMI)偏低,与膝关节骨性关节炎风险较低有关。

因此,本研究团队的目的是更好地阐明经常跑步与膝关节骨性关节炎发病风险的关联。

骨性关节炎计划研究受试者分析


研究人员分析了骨性关节炎计划研究纳入的部分受试者。结果共分析了2683名受试者的资料,平均年龄为64.5岁,56%为女性,平均BMI为28.6。

基线时,受试者接受了骨性关节炎症状评估和膝关节X线检查,并完成了体力活动问卷。该问卷调查了受试者在不同年龄阶段(12~18岁,19~34岁,35~49岁,50岁以上)最常参与的体力活动。

2年后,受试者再次接受X线检查,以评估影像学膝关节骨性关节炎(ROA)发病情况。对于有ROA但无疼痛发生的患者,采用Kellgren-Lawrence(KL)分级量表进行评估。如果KL评级在2级或以上,可诊断为ROA。

此外,受试者接受膝关节疼痛评估。如果除了ROA外,单膝关节经常性疼痛,则被归为有症状的骨性关节炎(SOA)。已接受全膝关节置换术者被归为频发膝关节疼痛、ROA和SOA。

任何年龄段经常跑步均对膝关节无害



研究结果揭示,在任何年龄段,经常跑步比不经常跑步的受试者相比,频发膝关节疼痛、ROA和SOA的概率较低。

在任何年龄段经常跑步和不跑步受试者的SOA发病率分别为22.8%和29.8%。

研究发现,BMI较低的受试者经常跑步的比例更高。

研究者认为,上述结果提示,普通人经常跑步不增加膝关节骨性关节炎风险,并且可能降低这种风险。

但是,研究者指出,该研究没有探讨经常跑步是否对已患有膝关节骨性关节炎者不利。不过,对于那些没有患膝关节骨性关节炎的人,不管年龄大小,没有理由限制其经常跑步。
