Radiology:核磁共振”背景强化“检查可预测女性患乳腺癌风险

我们都知道,常规核磁共振(MRI)检查有助于诊断乳腺癌。不仅如此,一项最新研究发现,MRI检查还有助于女性预测日后患乳腺癌风险。

华盛顿大学医学院的研究人员、放射学家Habib Rahbar发现,高乳腺癌风险女性MRI扫描后,呈现其共有特点——乳腺组织背景区域呈现高亮白色,这种现象在核磁共振技术领域术语称为“背景强化”(background parenchymal enhancement, BPE)——这类人群在接下来的几年患乳腺癌的风险是正常人的9倍。

美国癌症协会建议,女性患乳腺癌风险超过20%,除了要进行常规X光检查,还要进行核磁共振检查。美国女性患乳腺癌风险平均为12%。

另外,携带突变基因BRCA 1和BRCA 2的女性致病风险更高,也会出现家族遗传现象。

研究于5月12日发表在Radiology杂志上。
